For my team's final presentation, I created the PowerPoint, outlined the slides, and inputted all of the guidelines for each part of the presentation. More specifically, I focused on the introduction slide. This part includes objectives, background information, and some of SafeChat's needs. Most of the information I included can be found in the introduction part of our Project report. Here is what this slide looks like:

  • Objectives

    • SafeChat’s Mission - To provide emotional support, connection to resources, and education surrounding domestic violence

    • Goal - Increase number of SafeChat users by 25%

  • Background

    • Safechat intends to support the increase in domestic violence survivors

      • COVID-19 has created a prime environment for abusers

    • Target users: ages 18 - 34

      • 75% of Millennials and Gen-Z prefer texting (Murphy)

  • SafeChat Needs

    • To support over 150 survivors/month

    • Current solutions:

      • Online chat and call

      • Key differences

        • Doesn’t support new generations most common form of communication

This is what I plan to say during the presentation for this slide: SafeChat's overall mission is to provide emotional support, a connection to resources, and an education surrounding domestic violence. With this, my team set a goal of to increase the number of SafeChat users by 25%. This includes generic website users as well as those who chat with the organizations advocates. Some background information is that SafeChat has the intention to support the increase in domestic violence survivors. The main reason for this increase is due to COVID-19 and the psychological stress that comes with being at home for the majority of most days. From data provided by Google Analytics, we also know that the main users of SafeChat are between ages 18 and 34. Adding to this, research has showed that 75% of millennials and generation-Z prefer texting over other forms of communication. This is the main reason we thought implementing a texting platform would be beneficial. SafeChats main want is to support over 150 survivors per month compared to the average of 15 chat users the currently have per month. Their current solution to achieve this has been and online chat and call service. The key differences between this and our idea of an SMS service is that their current solutions do not support the new generations most common form of communication, texting.
